24 While 24

I did a list when I was 23 and although they didn't all get done I felt like I had accomplished something. So here is the list for while I am 24...

1) Say Family Prayer (We do good M-Th in the mornings, So we need to get better in the evenings and when Doran is off work.)
2) Study Scriptures (I dint finish the Old Testament. This time I have a book I want to study from. Hope it helps)
3) Build a Stronger Relationship With Heavenly Father (Last year one of my goals was to feel the spirit again and I do just not as strong as it use to be. I want my relationship to be stronger.)
4) Work on Family History (On Ancestry and on the scrapbook.)
5) Show Doran How Much I love Him (I don't feel like I do enough to show him how I feel.)
6) Go Camping
7) Make Healthier Food Choices

9) Put Money into Savings (I would like ti to be at $3000 by the end of the year)
10) Exercise More
11) Stop Drinking Soda (I don't feel good when I drink it so might as well stop. Right)
12) Wash Face once a Week (I have never been a girlie girl but feel it important to keep by body clean)
13) Do Something Just for me once a Month (This could be anything from window shopping to getting my nails done.)
14) Organize the Pantry (And keep it that way)

Vinegar

Vinegar who would have thunk it. I was sitting there thinking about how if vinegar softens the water in the wash why would it not work in the dishwasher. I turned to the kitchen section and there it was. All you do is add Distilled White Vinegar to the rinse plate or the spot that you normally put your jet dry. White Vinegar is $2 a gallon Jet dry $3 for a small bottle.

When It Worked. I now have spot free dishes. They are crystal clear. Jet Dry did not work this well. I highly recommenced this. And its not a chemical.

TSH

So as some of you know we have been in an on going battle to get my thyroid levels at a normal or regular level. Well today I went to the doctors and he gave us the news that all looked good and the numbers were starting to stay level. So my next appointment is 9-11-2010
Sweet I know.

Once a week we dig out the finger paints and I let the boys paint. They both love it. Ethan asks everyday to paint and Holland loves to splash. They are so cute and it keeps them occupied for thirty minuets to an hour.

Eco

So I know that this is weird but I picked up a book that has recipes for home made, all natural cleaners. I want to give it a try. I think that I will start with something simple like laundry soap or fabric softener. Hear is the recipe. This one includes both the soap and softener.

Hard Water Formula
1 Cup Soap Flakes
1 Cup Washing Soda
1/2 Cup Borax
2 Cups Vinegar
10 drops essential Oil of Choice

Combine the soap, washing soda, and borax in a heavy plastic container. Blend Vinegar and Oil in a separate container, preferably one with a pour spout. Use 1/2 cup of the soap mixture for washing; add 1/2 cup Vinegar mixture during the rinse cycle.

Know me not having ever done this is there somewhere around here that I can buy Soap flakes/pure bar soap, washing soda, and Borax?

When I try this I will let you all know how it works out.

Puzzled

Last week Ethan wanted to work on his puzzles and did not want any help. The above is what he ended up with. Now keep in mind he did not force any into place and he used all of the pieces. He was so cute. He stood up and yelled "I did it" So sweet. If we all could be a little more like him. I also included what the puzzle was suppose to look like.

3 Years

Today I am very Happy to announce that my sweet husband and I have made it to the three year mark. Yeah we did it. In the past three years we have gone through a lot. Money struggles, a life changing move, fights, vacations, the birth and death of a child... The list goes on and on but we have survived and become better people for it. Maybe in the year to come we will have a few of these things happen. Buy a house (we need to set up an appointment with a mortgage concealer), Go to the temple, Get a dog (Doran really wants one but the pre-rec is a house), Camping with family.

I would like to take a few minuets to tell everyone how much I love my husband I don't think I could have asked for a better one.

Three Reasons I Love My Marriage
1 I have a great husband who loves me
2 I know that I can get through anything with Doran by my side
3 I love my sweet Doran with all my heart.

Vacation

So we got back from Oregon OK. We have pictures and I will post those latter. We had a good time but I hope that next time we have the money to fly up. We left here at five pm on Wednesday, picked up Anthony in Provo and four am, got to Aunt Melanie's at ten am. We sat outside and visited. At five we got back in the car and headed to Grandma Hawkins for a visit. Grandpa and Doran had a good visit, Doran said they talked about hunting and fishing. Anthony worked on the computer that is in Chinese and Grandma and I played card games.

On Friday we drove the two hour trip to Oregon for the family reunion.

Will have to post more latter. Work awaits. See you latter.

The Boys and My Toys

Last week Doran and his brothers got into a creative mode.

Well I better start at the beginning. A few years ago Doran bought me a Cricut for Christmas and I love having it. I use it for many different things.

On Friday the boys (Doran, Morgan, and Nathan) went up to Prescott to do some mountain biking. When they got back Doran called to see if I was OK with them coming over to play wii. This was fine they are pretty clean so its not a strain on me.

When they got here the wii stood forgotten as the circled around my Cricut and started to play. A few minuets later Morgan proclaimed that he wanted to buy himself one.

Now I ask myself if these macho men knew that they were playing with a scrapbook and craft Machine and if that would have made it any less tempting to play with.

Monthly Goals

So I have been thinking about this for a while. I hat "New Year Resolutions" because a few months down the line you start to peater off. I want to work on one goal a month. I think if I get really good at it by the end of the month then it wont seem like such a big thing. So here it goes.

Spiritual - Read my Scriptures every day (I do read them but its more like once a week. I know I can do better)

Physical - Sit up strait ( I have been reading about the core mussels and thought to my self that there would be no point in strengthening them if I don't do it right the first time.)

I know that the month has already started but I will try my best to do it. Will report Back at the end of the month.

Time Out

Yesterday afternoon Ethan Wanted to play with a toy that Holland had so he took it. When I made him give it back he started to throw a fit. I told him that we don't throw fits and asked him if he wanted to sit on time out. He of course said no. I told him that if he did it again (Taking the toy and throwing a fit when he had to give it back) he would sit on time out. He acknowledged that and I turned around to pick up some toys.

When I turned back Ethan had decided to take the toy again. I told him to give it back and he started to throw a fit. He looked at me and ran back to his room. I follow him back there and he is sitting on the rocking chair with his arms folded.

This is our conversation:
ME: Ethan what are you doing?
ETHAN: Indie sit time out.
ME: OK

I walk to get the door because McKenzie is there and Ethan starts howling at the thought that the toy is leaving. I decide to let him off so he can say goodbye to Holland.

ME: Ethan are you ready to get up?
Ethan: Yes Dano.
ME: OK come here.
ETHAN: OK Dano. I sorry Dano.
ME: Are you going to be a good boy for me?
ETHAN: Indie be good boy

He walks out to the front room and gives Holland a hug and says hes sorry to him too. I love the fact that he is so willing to learn to say sorry. He is such a sweet little boy.
