Time Out

Yesterday afternoon Ethan Wanted to play with a toy that Holland had so he took it. When I made him give it back he started to throw a fit. I told him that we don't throw fits and asked him if he wanted to sit on time out. He of course said no. I told him that if he did it again (Taking the toy and throwing a fit when he had to give it back) he would sit on time out. He acknowledged that and I turned around to pick up some toys.

When I turned back Ethan had decided to take the toy again. I told him to give it back and he started to throw a fit. He looked at me and ran back to his room. I follow him back there and he is sitting on the rocking chair with his arms folded.

This is our conversation:
ME: Ethan what are you doing?
ETHAN: Indie sit time out.
ME: OK

I walk to get the door because McKenzie is there and Ethan starts howling at the thought that the toy is leaving. I decide to let him off so he can say goodbye to Holland.

ME: Ethan are you ready to get up?
Ethan: Yes Dano.
ME: OK come here.
ETHAN: OK Dano. I sorry Dano.
ME: Are you going to be a good boy for me?
ETHAN: Indie be good boy

He walks out to the front room and gives Holland a hug and says hes sorry to him too. I love the fact that he is so willing to learn to say sorry. He is such a sweet little boy.

And It is Up The Nose

So Ethan was in a fowl mood yesterday morning. Now this was not a surprise he is usually cranker on Mondays. I put him in his high chair for breakfast and he decided to throw his Cheerios on the floor. I told him not to and that he needed to eat.
He said "No Danyel"
Well to this I said "Yes Ethan"
I got down to pick up the Cheerios off the floor and when I finished Ethan was sitting there rubbing his nose. I asked him what was wrong with his nose.
He said "Ouch Danyel"
I looked up his nose to see what was wrong and I found that he had decided to shove a cheerio up his nose. I tried having him blow his nose and using q-tips nothing worked...until he started to sneeze. It came out and the rest of Breakfast was fine. Hopefully he has learned not to stick things up his nose.

On a Monday Morning

OK first I have not written in a while because of the lack of Internet. We use someone elses and in the Arizona heat we only get it after nine or before six and sometimes in between.

We got back from our camping trip yesterday afternoon. We had a lot of fun. We went on a grew hikes, walked around town, and went to antique stores. It was wonderful until Doran started to worry about money. He does this all the time and I told him if he is so worried about money than maybe he needs to stop spending money on food at work. I don't spend money out of the account unless it is bills, food, or gas.

I think that he is worried about next month when I don't watch Ethan for two weeks. I told him that everything will be fine. Have to go get ready for work. I will upload pictures latter. I might have to take them over to mom and dads to do so.
Talk later.

Friend Making Monday: 10 things I like about summer

1. Eating watermelon on a hot day. There is nothing better than the slight sugar rush you get as you bite into a firm, juicy piece of watermelon.
2. Flip Flops. I wear them year round but it is nice not to get strange looks like I do in the winter.
3. Camping. I love camping and we went a lot when I was a kid. I'm so happy that I married a man that loves it as much as I do.
4. Watching Ethan play in the sprinklers. It brings back memories of being a kid and sneaking the sprinkler under the trampoline even though our parents and grandma said not to. It was worth the spanking.
5. Easier Meals. Doran doesn't care what dinner is when hes hot so I can get by with a few easy meals like Tomato soup and Grilled cheese or even plain tuna sandwiches.
6. Jam. I have not had or been able to make it is some time put I use to love canning jam. It was always so much yummier than the stuff you buy at the store.
7. Canning. I know I'm strange but I can remember canning with my mom and always loved how saticfing it was to see and taste the effort I put in. The most important thing I ever learned from my mom came from when we were canning. She told me "What you put in is what comes out." This I have taken on to the rest of my life.
8. Swimming. Last year I didn't really get to go because I have relay dry hair and swimming makes it worse but Doran bought me some special conditioner for after we swim.
9. Heat. Now those of you that live here might laugh but it gives me an excuse not to go out and exercise.
10. Evening walks. Doran and I take walks sometimes in the evenings during the summer. I love this time because there are no distractions.
